The mission of AIDS Services of Austin is to enhance the health and well-being of the community and people affected by HIV and AIDS. For more than 30 years, ASA has provided a continuum of services to the greater Central Texas area and envisions a future of zero new HIV transmissions.

As the Prevention Programs Manager you will help lead the Prevention Department to reach communities affected by HIV/AIDS by implementing innovative strategies for a variety of diverse populations of focus. Your can-do attitude will allow you to meet competing priorities of multiple campaigns in a fast paced environment. The Prevention Program Manager you will insure that all grant requirement are being met for multiple grant funders. You will oversee a diverse team of Coordinators and front line staff to help meet the needs of the community.

As an essential part of the Prevention Department, your management of the daily program needs will help the department and agency meet our 2018 goals.

A successful Prevention Programs Manager must be willing and able to:

  • Drive and support the Prevention Team to meet grant goals.
  • Provide oversight of the HIV/STI Testing and Linkage programs.
  • Support and help implement different Evidence-based Interventions.
  • Oversee daily actives in the Prevention Department.
  • Create, manage and implement a grant budget

You Have:

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in health education, behavioral health, or a related field strongly preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in HIV/AIDS prevention or related work
  • 2 years of experience in supervising staff and managing prevention programs
  • Training in HIV Prevention Counseling and testing
  • Experience offering evidence-base Intervention like Healthy relationship, CLEAR

Brownie Points for:

  • Bilingual/bicultural (English and Spanish)
  • Degree in Health education, behavioral health or a related field.
  • Experience working with individuals of diverse cultures, ethnicities, socioeconomic backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender identities and/or expressions
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations

Schedule: this position is 40 hours/week Monday-Friday between the hours of 9am-6pm. (Varies) Nights and Weekends as needed.
