The mission of AIDS Services of Austin is to enhance the health and well-being of the community and people affected by HIV and AIDS. For more than 30 years, ASA has provided a continuum of services to the greater Central Texas area and envisions a future of zero new HIV transmissions.

As the Part-time Multimedia Specialist you will help the organization, with a large focus on graphic design that reaches communities affected by HIV/AIDS by utilizing print, photography, video, and digital content. Designing and executing new, original, and assigned content, you will implement innovative marketing strategies for a variety of diverse populations of focus. Your attention to detail and can-do attitude will allow you to meet competing priorities of multiple campaigns in a fast paced environment.

As an essential part of the communications and marketing team, your friendly and engaging demeanor will ensure successful connections, in person and online.

You're a mover and a shaker: Effortlessly, you move from appointments, to calls, notes, meetings, design, social media posts, and events and back again. You thrive with a packed to-do list and full schedule.  You stay motivated and if you see something that needs doing, you do it. Similarly, if you see a problem, then you begin working on innovative solutions to fix it quickly.

You're organized: You are on top of your game. Nothing falls through the cracks on your watch. Your planner is your life and Post-it Notes are dear friends. You are able to handle stressful situations, time management, and goals like a boss!

A successful Multimedia Specialist must be willing and able to:

  • Quickly create and curate quality and engaging content for diverse populations
  • Eagerly and positively engage with members of the Austin community while performing online promotions/outreach/recruitment, specifically with people of color and LGBTQ identified individuals
  • Work occasional nights and weekends (at least 4x/year)
  • Maintain strict client confidentiality
  • Operate within a small, fundraised marketing budget
  • Function within the Agency's policies and procedures as outlined in our Personnel Handbook

You Have:

  • A High school diploma or GED
  • Design experience in Adobe Creative Cloud Applications for creating both digital and print collateral
  • Knowledge and experience campaign execution across popular social media platforms

Brownie Points for:

  • Bilingual/bicultural (English and Spanish)
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, advertising, or other liberal arts focus
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations
  • Experience working in health, wellness, or nonprofit marketing
  • Experience working with individuals of diverse cultures, ethnicities, socioeconomic backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender identities and/or expressions
